Our Fundraisers

This year we launched two new events – 100kms in July Challenge and the 57kms Dog Walk Challenge. We were overjoyed by the fabulous support we received for these two events from people throughout Australia. This, combined with other community-based events, saw record participation from our wonderful community of fundraisers and significant funds raised for our research program.

There were so many activities this year! Our fundraisers participated in our challenge events, sporting events, played golf, and held their own small and large fundraising events for family and friends.

July marked our inaugural 100km in July Challenge, where we challenged participants to walk 100km’s during the month of July to help bring hope to those impacted by breast cancer.

The challenge was an incredible success, with 3,911 people participating from throughout Australia raising $957,920! We’re so grateful to all the wonderful challengers who have helped to make more clinical trials research possible.

After the phenomenal success of the 100km in July Challenge, we invited our four-legged friends to join in on the fun! For our 57km Dog Walk Challenge, participants were asked to walk 57km’s in February with their canines for the 57 people diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia. Thank you to the 3,363 ‘PAW-some’ participants who raised $710,727!

We were so grateful to our Pink Champions nationwide who swam, walked, ran, held trivia nights, pamper days, high teas, exercise classes, camping weekends and even line dancing events to raise funds this year.

Tee Off for Breast Cancer Trials, now in its 28th year, attracted golfers from 122 golf clubs around Australia raising a record $260,000!

First held in 1996, this event is much loved by golfers throughout Australia. Thank you to golf clubs nationwide and their dedicated members who continue to support Tee Off and who go to extraordinary lengths to make their events a great day out.

Race For A Cure, a fundraising initiative created by Ben, Toula and Michael Kavich, had great success on and off the Bathurst 6 Hour track this year. Ben and Michael were joined by Tickford Racing Supercars driver Thomas Randle and had their best finish, placing 4th overall.

They also had their most successful fundraising year yet with over $50,000 raised for Breast Cancer Trials.

In its 26th year, the 2024 edition of The Australian Women’s Health Diary raised net funds of $845,000 bringing the total net funds now raised to $19.62 million since the first edition in 1999. This diary has a loyal and growing customer base, and we thank every person who purchased our 2024 edition. The diary is highly regarded as a practical, every-day organiser and for the important health information it includes targeted for women of all ages.

Special thanks to The Australian Women’s Weekly which has helped to produce every edition, to Lisa Wilkinson for her personal support, and to our dedicated team who produce the diary each year. We also thank our distribution partners – newsagents nationally, Woolworths and Australia Post.
